Under New York state law, employers must also:
Display sexual harassment informational posters in visible, high-traffic areas
Ensure a workplace free of sexual harassment
Provide a sexual harassment information sheet at request
Provide training to employees within 90 days of hire

Additionally, these mandates require New York State employers to protect their own employees from harassment but also non-employees, including vendors and contractors. Sexual harassment training in New York is absolutely needed for success and safety at the office. Previous legislation didn’t include people who weren’t part of the organization itself. However, now organizations are responsible for all misconduct on their location, regardless of whether the employee is their own.

In an in-person or live training, the presenter asks the employees questions or gives them time throughout the presentation to ask questions
Web-based or in-person training that provides a Feedback Survey for employees to turn in after they have completed the training
